Grand adventures are happening with the theater programs at the Gorham Arts Alliance.

Beginning this Fall of 2024, GAA will be hosting a Performing Arts After School Program for students in grades 3-5th and 6-8th at the Performing Arts Center located at 34 School St. This program will be filled with classes (audition prep, acting, improv, music theory, vocals, theater tech and musical theater dance) specifically designed for the young performing artists who want to accelerate their knowledge of ‘all things theater’.

SPRING THEATER PRODUCTION


Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast paced, preteen New York City like and Plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents’ divorce. Now the new kid at school, he need to establish his place in the popularity pecking over. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain….or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts ?!?

Experience this Musical Theatre Mash Up where children will strengthen their performance skills in acting, dance, improv, and voice. This exciting program is designed to engage young performing artists and help them flourish, culminating in a final performance where campers bring to life scene selections from various musicals for family and friends.

The story follows enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory... or suffer the consequences.

In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes, things aren't always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career in "talking pictures" without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her.

When young Alice finds herself in a strange world where everything seems upside down, she must find her way home…and find herself along the way. As she travels through Wonderland, she encounters all of the iconic characters that audiences have come to love: including the ever-tardy White Rabbit, the grinning Cheshire Cat, a cool Caterpillar, the wacky Mad Hatter, and the hot-tempered Queen of Hearts.
